Lunch & Learn: Maximum City’s KidScore
May 7 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Developed by Maximum City with kids and experts, the KidScore is both an engagement tool and a metric for evaluating the child friendliness of urban places.
In 2019, Maximum City conducted a pilot of the KidScore in nine Toronto communities for the City of Toronto’s Child Friendly TO team. The goal was to engage kids in assessing the child friendliness of these communities using the KidScore, produce data revealing where neighbourhoods are not meeting kids’ needs, and inform better planning and outcomes to meet those gaps. The results of the pilot are now visualized in an interactive map, as well as described in detail in a report.
Join us to learn more about the KidScore pilot, how the criteria and scoring index were developed and tested, and some of the findings and lessons learned.
Since all of our events will be taking place online for the foreseeable future, we’re opening some of them up to the public – including this one!
