This could lead to biased technology that isn’t built for all users in mind. The key to avoid falling into this trap is to engage everyday people throughout the design process via thoughtful research and testing activities. \nCivic Hall Toronto’s sister program\, GRIT (Gathering Residents to Improve Technology) Toronto\, launched in 2018 to tackle these issues head-on. GRIT Toronto offers services that connect technology creators — including governments\, startups and civic tech groups — with diverse and underrepresented communities to elicit feedback on their products and services\, and ultimately make them more impactful and accessible. \nJoin Marisa Bernstein\, Program Manager of GRIT Toronto and Civic Hall Toronto\, for a discussion of how GRIT Toronto has successfully pivoted to conducting usability tests remotely\, with tips on creating a supportive environment from afar. \nThis event is Open to the General Public and will be taking place over Google Meet – the link will be sent via email prior to the event. Please note that this session will be recorded. \n➡️ Click here to register\nIf you have any questions\, please contact marzie@codefor.ca \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n URL:https://civichallto.ca/event/webinar-inclusive-research-testing-from-anywhere/ LOCATION:Google Meet CATEGORIES:Event,Public ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://civichallto.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/CHT-Event-Cover-Images-6.jpg END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
